Hi all, I received the following yesterday. I did not see it. Did anyone here see it or know what it might be? Too slow for a satellite. Maybe a high altitude research or weather ballon?
I went out for a walk this morning a little before 6:30am. At that time, it was fairly dark, but the sky was starting to light up. In the eastern sky, I could see the crescent moon and Venus in fairly close formation.
I looked up about 15 minutes later and saw a third object (about the same magnitude as Venus) in the same vicinity as Venus and the Moon—forming a triangle. At first, I thought it might be Mercury, but then I realized it was moving, but very slowly. After another ten minutes it vanished.
Oh and here's another weird sighting: http://www.tampacriminals.com/Mugshots/Patrick_wiggins/962817-906ceece3a27bb... It wasn't me, judge. :) patrick
The sky was pretty bright by the time I stepped out of the shop to take a look, but I did see something similar. From my vantage point, it was more in line with Venus and the moon, not a triangle. Off to the right of the moon. It was about as bright as Jupiter, not nearly as bright as Venus but definitely brighter than anything there should have been and it shone steadily, no twinkling at all. I thought it might be Procyon but looking this morning, the star is much too dim to have been what I saw yesterday. I didn't look long enough to detect any motion. Curious. Is there a reward for info related to locating Patrick Wiggins?

Yes. A gift certificate to a vegan restaurant and a "fur is dead" bumper sticker. ;-) On Sep 13, 2012 1:29 PM, <erikhansen@thebluezone.net> wrote:

No, that was a different sighting. We were talking about a point source close to Venus and the moon. The missle was in the southern sky, not high in the east. On Fri, Sep 14, 2012 at 7:47 AM, <erikhansen@thebluezone.net> wrote:
