Watch the transit of Venus - live on your desktop right now at http://www.esa.int/science
Patrick What is/was the local UT time for the transit? Was it visible from here? Or was it during our night time? Thanks, Jim Patrick Wiggins <paw@trilobyte.net> wrote: Watch the transit of Venus - live on your desktop right now at http://www.esa.int/science _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Visit the Photo Gallery: http://www.utahastronomy.com
I believe the transit happened early this morning, and only those east of us could see it. I believe Venus was off the Sun by the time it came over the mountains. Aloha I saw the transit via the Hong Kong Astro Society and the VT2004 sites. It started after 7PM HST here and I'd guess that's about 11 PM for you all. The next Venus Transit occurs in 2012 and will be visible for the full duration from HAWAII. Make your plans now ......... Aloha Rob
So I missed the live feed, but here's a peek from a fellow RV-6 owner back East: http://www.geocities.com/jsgy/astro/venus_transit/ Rich __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Friends. Fun. Try the all-new Yahoo! Messenger. http://messenger.yahoo.com/

As shown here: http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/transit/venus/Map2012-2.GIF During this morning's transit I kept checking CNN to see how they'd cover the transit. They did mention it. Many times. But all they ever showed were computer simulations. No images of the actual event itself. Grumble... Patrick
