Re: [Utah-astronomy] Saturday Night Observing
So, if the weather were forecast to be clear at the Wedge, would you be interested in going there? Mike Bailey
If the weather AND the road are OK, I'd be interested in going Friday night, but not Saturday night because I have to work Sunday. Thanks, Joe
I suspect the road to the Wedge is fine. It dries out very quick. One time I went there after a downpour and it just got rid of the dust. Since we have had very little rain the last few days I sure it would be dry. Dave Bernson and Dave Bennett went there in February one year and it was in the 50's during the day. That said, I probably won't be able to go that far this weekend. I called some folks down there, and they said that all the dirt roads they had driven on in the last week were dry. They said they had not been out to the Wedge, but they were pretty sure it should be dry too, given prior experience. Allen and I may try for Friday night. If the forecast justifies it, we may try for either Thursday or Saturday too. The U of U has Spring Break from Friday afternoon through the next week, so..... it may be a good idea for the first people there to try to reserve that whole are to the west of the developed campground.
