Cedar City and Bryce look very acceptable, so that probably means within 10 miles of centerline. I would think for Bryce attendees that want to be at exact center there looks like there are places within 10 or 20 miles they could go without driving the distance to Kanaraville. I liked the youtube simulations it did demonstrate that Bailey's Beads are more visible at the northern limit, and for timing purpose's it is easier to be off the centerline. Although I have absolutely no interest in timing the event. I simply want to enjoy the phenomenon. I am still toying with N California because I have some friends there that live on centerline. It looks like even people in SL will have a decent experience, SLAS should have some sort of valley event, with an H-alpha scope. Patrick why not fly through center line, you could race the moons shadow. way cool! thanks!

FYI, earlier this afternoon I realized I had Cedar and Kanosh reversed in the sequence so I just posted the corrected version (still at the same URL). patrick On 16 Sep 2011, at 01:31, Patrick Wiggins wrote:

of course you also mean the views are at middle maximum.

It should also be note that the Bryce location is probably the visitor center. Right?
That is in the northern part of the park, Rainbow Point is like 10 miles further south so probably much closer to center line than the visitor center. FYI, earlier this afternoon I realized I had Cedar and Kanosh reversed in
the sequence so I just posted the corrected version (still at the same URL).

The problem with Bryce is that it is an eclipse at sunset. If you are at all interested in a wide angle photograph, including scenic wonders, the wonders will be in deep shadow. ----- Original Message ----- From: erikhansen@thebluezone.net To: "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Saturday, September 17, 2011 11:50:41 AM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Eclipse appearance (updated)

Here is an interesting place that is a half mile off centerline.

I wanted to show the best possible view from Bryce so I used the south end of the park. patrick On 17 Sep 2011, at 11:50, erikhansen@TheBlueZone.net wrote:
