My first attempt imaging with a nebula filter. Can’t say it was too successful. This is just a preview image of about 200 seconds. I never did get things going to get a full-acquisition image. I may try again, tonight. These early-morning imaging sessions can be brutal. I think I got most of the weird stuff hammered out last night. I didn’t have any coffee for Murphy, so he just stayed a couple of minutes, but it was enough to throw me off. Doesn’t take much. Sorry about the size of the image. It was the best I could muster. https://www.flickr.com/photos/78046474@N06/14343831416/in/set-72157645005035... Dave
Most astrophotographers would never, in a million years, post their crappy photos. They contain serious problems like star trails, star balls, flares and the like. What is your problem? It's all I have. I can't be choosy. Hopefully, in years to come you can say, "Hey, I knew this guy when he posted really crappy photos. Now, they're just moderately so." As Ma' used to say, "Well, it builds your character." Dave Sent from my iPad

Thanks Larry. I never got to really image. I just couldn’t get things to work right. The main problem was guiding. It was hard to find a bright enough guide star with that pickup mirror system of the 8300 using a nebula filter. I, finally, got it to work, but it was 03:30 by that time. I was beat. I wasn’t going to wait for a whole series of images to complete. I packed it up and went to bed. Dave Dave On Jun 8, 2014, at 18:54, Larry Holmes <larry@kijoda.com> wrote:

Dave, if I got an image that good, I'd be a very happy man in the imaging department. Very nice, indeed! On Sat, Jun 7, 2014 at 10:19 AM, Dave Gary <davegary@me.com> wrote:

Thanks Chuck. I know you’ve done much better than this. I need to watch the last couple of episodes of Cosmos, too. Oh, and fix one of my sprinkler lines. It’s always something. Dave On Jun 9, 2014, at 5:40, Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> wrote:
