Anyone else see a fairly obvious tail on the comet tonight? Despite the proximity of the nearly full Moon I was able to easily spot the comet with 7x35 binos and was some surprised to see what looked like a faint but visible tail a couple of degrees long. I'd hoped to get some images tonight only to roll the roof off my observatory and see the sky had clouded over. Grumble... Patrick
same here Patrick, I was doing good and then clouds rolled in. I'll try in a couple hours but this may be the beginning of the promised rain ........... I think there's a tail but too much light in the neighborhood from people still awake to really get a good view. Aloha Rob
Hi Patrick, I took a peak at the Comet around 10:30pm on Sunday from my home in West Jordan with the 15x70's and despite the moon a tail was definitely visible. I didn't even try to get any pictures, I think the moon would've just washed any shot out. Howard --- Patrick Wiggins <paw@trilobyte.net> wrote:
