Flying back from Wendover Tuesday evening I was entranced by the appearance of the Moon low over the Cedar Mountains and right in the middle of Earth's shadow. The wind was really blowing out there so there were a bunch of mini-sandstorms down below which I thought gave a nice texture and mix of shadows to the ground below. http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/~paw/temp/MOONRISE.JPG
That's a great shot Patrick! I've got to go flying/shooting with you some day! Howard --- On Thu, 7/5/12, Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> wrote:

Pretty good, but not as good as your moon over Antelope Island that you took a year or so ago. I have that one as one of my desktop wallpapers. ________________________________ From: Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> To: utah astronomy listserve utah astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, July 5, 2012 1:09 AM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Moonrise over the Cedar Mountains Flying back from Wendover Tuesday evening I was entranced by the appearance of the Moon low over the Cedar Mountains and right in the middle of Earth's shadow. Agreed. I've got plans for another shot out west and actually was headed out to do that one when I shot the current one but arrived a few minutes after the Sun had set (I wanted to catch it a few minutes before sunset to get the shadows and glow of sunset). One of my partners has the plane for the next few days so it'll be next week before I can try again. Clear skies, patrick
Nice pic, Patrick!
