Here are some inside shots of the scope in its place. It's still not quite finished. I have a bit more to do, but I anticipate a mid June open house. http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=3437 http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=3440

Very nice Dale, I like the look of all the wood (and really like the pattern in the ceiling). Perchance are you going to put some sort of wood structure around the pier? Maybe to be topped with a small table or work surface (I've got such a surface on the top of my pier and it has come in handy many times). patrick On 01 Jun 2010, at 22:28, Dale Wilson wrote:

Chuck, I was thinking more in terms of a Sushi Bar! What is the size of the "table" around yours? I have thought of that, just don't want something that would be bumped into in the dark. ________________________________ From: Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Tue, June 1, 2010 10:46:00 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Inside shots Very nice Dale, I like the look of all the wood (and really like the pattern in the ceiling). Here's a picture: http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/%7Epaw/keep/patrickw/PATRICKW558.JPG It's about 4' in diameter. It's white so I can see stuff sitting on it when the lights are dimmed. I also stand on it when I need to work on the upper parts of the scope. Looking forward to your first light get together, patrick
Hi Dale, You have a beautiful observatory. My 2 cents - I use a small cart by my pier. For imaging I can wheel it over by the pier and it will hold the CCD power supply, focuser controller, etc. But, when I have small groups like scouts or others I can move it away from the pier. However, I do have a small tabletop along the wall next to my control room. Clear skies, another Dale.
