Re: [Utah-astronomy] Utah Star Party
Hey Richard, The site is past Pit n Pole. Go down that road, it's gravel now to UT 36 at Faust. Go left, and then go down past Vernon, to the turn for the Benmore Rd and Vernon Reservoir. That is a dirt road and there are some pot holes when you turn right there. The road is a dirt road following it for 5 miles to a T section where you can turn left to Vernon Reservoir (don't do that) or go right which you want to do. Go down to the first left, FR006 and turn left and then follow that up til you find us. We should be on the first left campsite. I have a Black Pathfinder. Thursday is looking like a bust but Friday and Saturday should be great, with Saturday night should be just great. Cool out there though so dress warm. Mat and I should have our propane tanks with the heaters on them just in case someone needs to get warm. They'll be away from the observing field though. Here is the current forecast. I will be out there Thursday afternoon to set up and claim the site (they are first come first serve). .THURSDAY...A CHANCE OF RAIN IN THE MORNING...THEN RAIN LIKELY IN THE AFTERNOON. CLOUDY...COOLER. HIGHS IN THE MID 50S. CHANCE OF RAIN 60 PERCENT. .THURSDAY NIGHT...MOSTLY CLOUDY. A 40 PERCENT CHANCE OF RAIN SHOWERS IN THE EVENING. LOWS AROUND 40. .FRIDAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY IN THE MORNING THEN BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY. HIGHS IN THE MID 50S. .FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY...MOSTLY CLEAR. LOWS IN THE UPPER 30S. HIGHS AROUND 60. .SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY...MOSTLY CLEAR. LOWS IN THE MID 40S. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 60S.
