You could actually see the light bulb turn on...
Patrick, as I was watching my old 8mm videos tonight, my eye kept wandering over the other video equipment under the TV...and something, a growing intuition, kept fermenting in the back of my mind- AHA! I have a DVD recorder that I have only ever used for playback! Is it just that simple- burn a DVD copy while the 8mm camcorder plays it back into the DVD deck? I'm sorry, I just don't spend much time playing with this stuff I guess...call me "video challenged". __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Let me know if you pull it off. I've got a DVR and recently wondered if I could shoot my occultation and satellite transits with it. But I went through the manual and could not find any way to record anything except the signal that comes in from the receiver dish. The dish connects via a standard F connector so it would be easy to rig an RCA-to-F cable to feed the DVR a video signal but I'm afraid I might fry something. So you try it with your DVDR and let me know how it goes... :) Patrick
My goal is to pull perhaps the best ten to twenty seconds of Jupiter floating there, for a video clip that folks can download and view. You can see some of the brighter moons in addition to bands, belts, and the two major impact sites. A more advanced project would be to grab the best individual semi-frames and stack them to make a high-resolution still image. Since this was done with a camcorder, you can hear my vocalized expressions of amazement on one segment. --- Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> wrote:
