For those who missed it, Patrick had the Earth Science Picture of the Day, yesterday. Here's the link: http://epod.usra.edu/blog/2013/10/stansbury-island-in-great-salt-lake.html Congratulations, Patrick!
Congratulations again to Patrick. Strange how EPOD has an Internet presence while APOD is caput. ________________________________ From: Joe Bauman <josephmbauman@yahoo.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, October 11, 2013 2:19 PM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Patrick's EPOD For those who missed it, Patrick had the Earth Science Picture of the Day, yesterday. Thanks Mike, As for APOD vs EPOD, I can't say for sure but after the edict came out that NASA folks are not even allowed to volunteer time during the shutdown (even I as a volunteer received the same notice) some of us have continued to do our thing. I suspect that's what is happening with EPOD. patrick Sent from my iPad On Oct 11, 2013, at 14:29, M Wilson <astro_outwest@yahoo.com> wrote:

Thanks Joe, Funny that they used that one. Some here might remember that the one I submitted first was of a small peak in the West Desert. After shooting that I was headed back to SLC and got the one of the island almost as an after thought. I didn't even use the "nice" camera, just stuck the iPhone out the window. Now what's say we get a few folks on this list submitting? Unlike APOD, EPOD shots are not that hard to take. Even pictures of stuff around home like close ups of frost, bugs and leaves look great and make fine EPODs.
