Or, as the politically correct swould put it: Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the December solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. And without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishees. By accepting these greetings you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for herself or himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.
That was quite heartfelt, Patrick, in spite of the fact that it may be offensive to other species.

Patrick, do you actually know people like this? I do, they are everywhere. These days one almost needs to have a law degree in order to safely navigate an overwhelming "mine field" of toes simply to avoid stepping on one. Of course that would have to be a law degree from one of the "finer" east and west coast institutes of higher learning... Quoting Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com>:

No worries, Guy. Last time I read it, I found no Constitutional protection from insults. Being thin-skinned, by itself, isn't a Constitutionally-protected class. As long as you don't discriminate based on a handful of criteria, it's still lawful to let-off with a zinger, or wish someone good will based on your own moral foundation. If they take it the wrong way, oh, well, everyone can't have above average intelligence or a sense of humor. MERRY CHRISTMAS, and GOD BLESS US, EVERYONE. --- diveboss@xmission.com wrote:

This time of year, in my house we also celebrate Festivus. I especially look forward to the Airing of Grievances, and the Feats of Strength. The Festivus Pole is already up in the living room. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
