I'm thinking that Joan may be right on the centerline issue. After all, if you are on the centerline, you can (and will) get off-center shots, too. Decisions, decisions... I'm thinking about the possibility of stereo pairs. If some of you have identical cameras & lenses and are spaced out a couple of dozen miles along the eclipse track, it might yield some cool results. Identical rigs are not mandatory, thanks to PhotoShop and similar image manipulation software, but it makes the job a lot easier and produces better results if they are. An eclipse is also a terrific event for a time-lapse animation. Because there is no totality, you won't have to remove a filter and radically alter your exposures, as you must for a total solar eclipse.
