Tell your friend to keep an eye on the pawn shops & eBay. I HOPE he had the sense to record the serial number, or engrave his own in an unobtrusive location. Any seller on eBay should be willing to tell a potential bidder the serial number. Refusal is an indication of theft. He can possibly then get an address from eBay management if he can prove theft. My scope was in a Meade square blue carry bag, had two eye pieces with it, as well as a camera adapter tube with a bayonet mount camera adapter attached. A set of short screw-in legs were in an inside pocket (along with the camera adapter tube), as well as the user manual. One identifying characteristic is that the eyepiece locking screw is missing from the eyepiece barrel.
