Re: [Utah-astronomy] Astronomical League Certificates?
I know that I am about to finish the Messier Club and the Binoculars Messier (should be this month but depends on how the old back recovers and the weather). I started the Urban Club and am working on my own on the Best of the NGC. After that I'll probably do the Double Star. One thing I noticed with these is that often you can do at least two lists since many objects are near to each other.
Thanks everyone who responded. I see the link is listed as "Observing Clubs". I was thinking that was a link to find clubs near you. Again, thanks for the help. On Fri, Mar 6, 2009 at 6:38 AM, JayLEads <jayleads@gmail.com> wrote:

Yes, if you are well organized you can do that and keeping individual logs keeps it all straight. Few of the lists can be done in a single season and doing the Messier List in one night is discouraged by the league. I look forward to processing your awards.
As a note: a few people have wished to say that big binoculars qualify as a telescope and should be applied to both Messier Club and Binocular Club. That is not acceptable. Although if you observe a Messier object that is also on the Urban List it is acceptable to apply that observation to both. There is no time limit. Erik
