Brent had mentioned East Canyon too. Isn't there going to be light polution from the SLC valley there? And is there any land to buy? On the other hand it might be lots closer to folks in the SL area.
Remember that this exercise is to identify an area where the slies would be very good, and yet close to the population centers. Yes, these areas are not the best there is, but they sure beat the city! They would also be somewhat sheltered from the major light pollution we all suffer from. Brent --- RStmarie@aol.com wrote:

I sometimes head out west of Stockton, Tooele County, say around the Pony Express Trail. But even that's not so great. The High Uintas are really dark and they're not too far away -- but they're cold. Thanks, Joe
Hi all, I don't know whether this thread reflects the thoughts of several wishful thinkers or if there really is interest in reviving the DSS issue. If the latter is the case y'all might want to bring it up at tonight's SLAS meeting. And, heck, maybe it's a topic for the next OAS meeting as well. No one says such a sight has to belong to just one club. Patrick :-)
