I'm a bit behind in my readings, but did anyone notice the photo of "Strange Clouds" in the February S&T Reader's Gallery? I've seen a lot of weird lenticular clouds, but this takes the cake. In fact, it looks to me as if you can see where it was pasted together and airbrushed. Any other comments on it? John R. Peterson

We can't get in the way of progress, we must make way for the intergalactic by-pass.
Seriously, below is APOD link from Feb 8, showing lenticular clouds and additional links for more info. http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap090203.html It's the Vogon Destructor Fleet. -- jb

Here's a shot over the West Maui Mountains from a few years back of a lenticular cloud and yes, that IS the true color http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=1048&g2_imageViewsIndex=1 Aloha Rob
Rob, That is such a beautiful shot. Your shot of lenticular clouds gave me a little ventricular fibrillation as I reminisced about catching opai in the river near I'ao Needle. I have seen lentricular clouds from time to time and didn't realize what I was looking at. In your post the words lenticular cloud has a link so I read about them and it is fascinating to learn how they are formed.
