Orion Nebula: Added Color (couldn’t remember which folder I put the colored photos in)
Sorry, for two posts. I found the color photos that I took of M42. A little longer exposure to get color. A mind is a terrible thing to waste. No dark subtraction on either photo because I didn’t take any darks. I will try, again, tonight. I’ll try to get other targets, also. We’ll see. http://www.flickr.com/photos/78046474@N06/sets/72157632973069650/
Dave, what was the exposure? I prefer to take a bunch of exposures and combine them. Darks can be taken at any time -- just stick the camera in the refrigerator while it's attached to the computer, get it down to the right temperature, and fire away. -- Joe ________________________________ From: Dave Gary <davegary@me.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, March 11, 2013 11:13 AM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Orion Nebula: Added Color (couldn’t remember which folder I put the colored photos in) Sorry, for two posts. The black-and-white was 90 seconds, the color was 2 minutes. I’m going to try for a galaxy, tonight. We’ll see. On [Mar 11], at [Mar 11] 4:04 PM, Joe Bauman wrote:

Although it's "just" a globular, I'd love to see M35 shot with the same setup and image scale as the M42 shot, Dave. If you can stay up late, there are some good-sized galaxies in Ursa Major that would be great at that scale. You can nab M35 as soon as it's dark enough.
