On this day in 1975, in an ironic twist, Bruce actually repaired a toilet using a part scavanged from an old equatorial mount.
If that's true it needs to go in the SLAS History document. :) BTW, for those who may not know, thanks primarily to the efforts of Ann Blanchard, there really is such a document: http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/~paw/slas/SLASPAST.PDF patrick On 01 Feb 2011, at 07:38, Chuck Hards wrote:

Lemme guess...his toilet has an approximately 40 degree lean? (accidentally only sent this to Rodger the first time...) Dan On Feb 1, 2011, at 3:07 PM, Rodger C. Fry wrote:

That is probably somewhat backwards, Marge probably made Bruce put the part back he used to make the equatorial mount with in the first place.

22 March 1992: Siegfried Jachmann uses 9" Alvin Clark refractor to show syzygy (alignment of 3 celestial bodies) between sun and Galilean satellites Europa and Ganymede. Actually it was the "Alvan" Clark. -------------------------------------------------- From: "Patrick Wiggins" <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 01, 2011 2:35 PM To: "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] On this day in astronomy
