Daniel, have you never heard of a conservative Democrat? Or better yet, a liberal Republican? Keeping the divisiveness and hate of the radio talk-show hosts at arms length and in perspective, I would like to recommend that you study the life of Edwin Brant Frost, coincidentally a director of Yerkes observatory for 20 years. Proof that the "conservative" or "liberal" label is mostly just "marketing" and not permanently attached to either major political party. I might also suggest that you familiarize yourself with the Libertarian platform. There you'll find an amazing hybrid of aspects of both republican and democratic platforms. Most "common sense" approaches to legislative and judiciary issues are not even considered by any party leadership, because it completely undercuts the approach of demonization, villification, and marginalization of one's perceived "enemies" (your neighbors and fellow citizens- some of whom have actually made more sacrifices for their country than you). The "us vs. them" mentality is tribal, ancient, and instinctive. It has little to do with the more modern concepts of tolerance, inclusion, charity, and compassion, as taught by such radicals as Jesus and Mohammed. Sorry to go so blatantly off-topic.
From: daniel turner <outwest112@yahoo.com> Actually the conservatives on the list are very tolerant. We let the Democrats whine here whenever they want too. It's good therapy for them. Otherwise they would still be going on about butterfly ballots and dimpled chads. Kim doesn't bother us, we're big hearted and generous.

Oh don't hold back Chuck. Just let it all out. You'll feel a lot better. We're used to it. DT __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com

Sorry to go so blatantly off-topic. Alas, in this country science and politics are intertwined so mixing the two here is hardly off topic.
Oh don't hold back Chuck. Just let it all out. You'll feel a lot better. We're used to it. And we very much appreciate it. Keep it up Chuck!
