SLAS private star parties
We were curious about the SLAS private star parties - anyone have answers to our questions? Last time we were at SPOC the skies seemed pretty bright from all the new development, so we were hopeful that the private star parties were to some darker skies. We like the idea of having other folks around for camaraderie and safety. How many people attend, public or private land, darkness of skies, single v. multiple nights? Any info would be helpful. thx, Randy ____________________________________________________________________________________ Fussy? Opinionated? Impossible to please? Perfect. Hi, The private SLAS star parties are, well, private <grin> so you need to either be a member of SLAS or be invited by a SLAS member to attend. Not that anyone's being elitist but SLAS members do a LOT of public star parties so occasionally it's nice to just get away from the public and do one's own thing. That said, if you're a SLAS member you can go to the SLAS page (http://slas.us), log on and then go to the "Events Calendar" link (non-members going to that link will only see public events). If you're not a member of SLAS you can still get an idea of where some of the private star parties are held by going to the SLAS page and clicking on the "Star Party Maps" link. pw On 20 Aug 2007, at 16:39, Randall Peterson wrote:
