Re: [Utah-astronomy] Utah-Astronomy Digest, Vol 131, Issue 4
Thanks Patrick. No love with lovejoy. I thought I had it pegged where it was, just to the south and slightly lower than Vega. Alas, I couldn't find it. Hopefully I'll get another chance, but I know it's getting smaller. As to Kanarraville, It's a toss up as to my favorite being the folks with tinfoil hats, or a certain famous Utah astronomer who closed out our story, about 2:50 in. ;-) http://www.ksl.com/?sid=20491071 On Jan 3, 2014, at 12:45 AM, utah-astronomy-request@mailman.xmission.com wrote:

Hi Alan,
Ah yes, Kanarraville. What a trip that was. But as great as the eclipse was some of my fondest memories were of the thousands of people that basically inundated that little town.
Nice montage. Hopefully in 2017 you'll have a chance to make a similar picture of the total.
Good luck with Lovejoy,
patrick

Thanks Patrick! I'll get up bright and early and see what I can get up I. Canyon.
BTW, I don't know of you remember me, I work a lot with Yeates and Horst, and have interviewed you many times with those fine gents.
My favorite was with you down at the sweet spot in Kannaraville during the eclipse last year. Here's a progression pic of that annular eclipse. I'm sure you were able to get better ones with your gear.

I get daily updates on spiffy sky sights like visible comets but Lovejoy has not been on the list for a couple of days. So it may be you'll have to wait for the next brightish comet.
