I'd like to sincerely thank everyone who brought their laser to the meeting tonight for the test. __________________________________ Yahoo! Mail - PC Magazine Editors' Choice 2005 http://mail.yahoo.com
Where did you go? We were playing laser tag in the parking lot. Quoting Chuck Hards <chuckhards@yahoo.com>:

Chuck, You vanished after the meeting! Did I miss the show? Everyone I asked assumed you left early...? --- diveboss@xmission.com wrote:

I didn't leave early guys, I left at the end of the meeting. Since it was raining I didn't linger in the parking lot- didn't bring a jacket, and 5 am comes awfully fast. See my prior post, no test happened. Just as well since I only printed-out 30 rating forms and there were more than 30 in attendance at the meeting. The room would work well for the indoor version of the test, however. The test stand is built such that up to six pointers can be tested simultaneously, and turned-on either individually, or en masse. Some list members noted that these diodes are not designed for continuous use and "on" times should be kept under a minute. I was planning to keep them on for only 20 to 30-second intervals. That should be enough time to note the order of brightness for six beams. If not we can give them a cool-down interval and then turn them on for another 30 seconds. Brightness can vary with length of time it's left on though, so ideally people wouldn't dwell on each test trying to split hairs, and go with their first impression. Scott asked if the results will be posted- yes, that's my plan if we can actually pull this off. Maybe with more notice, next time we can have more lasers. I think we had about eight to ten there last night, from talking with people. --- Richard Tenney <retenney@yahoo.com> wrote:
