"Meteorite trail" redux - and partial consensus
The alleged Australian meteorite trail discussed here was also featured on the Astronomy Picture of the Day for 7 Dec 2004. There was a discussion there to attempt to come to a consensus. The discussion generated 118 pages (yes, apparently - some people really do have too much time on their hands) and a partial consensus was reached - that it "may" be a flying insect. If you are interested, you can see all the gory detail here: http://bb.nightskylive.net/asterisk/viewtopic.php?t=249 Clear skies, Dale.
Just heard on the radio that Tooele County was holding a meeting today regarding the proposed Tooele Racetrack plans of Larry Miller. Did anyone think to go? I believe they were reporting for Channel 4. It might be worth having Patrick, Siegfried or Kim, or anyone of importance call Channel 4 news and get on this evenings broadcast stating SPOC's interest in the pending plans... I don't have any phone numbers for the important people but perhaps someone lurking about may have such numbers and would be willing to relay this info to someone. Guy
Just saw your message Guy. It would be nice to take a stand, but to do so publicly prior to meeting with project owners/developers may seem confrontational. Additionally, I have no formal standing on the Board right now and this is definitely something the Board should address. But thanks for the thought. No problem. Not living in Tooele County I wasn't aware there was a meeting scheduled. I would have gone just to see what was happening. The news report said that "not everyone" was on board with the planned project. I guess I was more curious to see whether any club members, especially those living in the affected area might have been in attendance. Guy Quoting Kim Hyatt <kimharch@msn.com>:
