My favorite critter story is of the horned lark that curled up at sunset next to my car tire. The tire was still warm from the highway, and the small bird was used to bedding down with something large and warm like a cow. The bird had no fear of humans, because it had grown up out at lakeside and had never seen one before. DT
My favorite was a SLAS member being stalked by a mountain lion at the big mountain site. He got in his car and ended up looking (through his window) eye to eye with it.
