Re: [Utah-astronomy] Salt Lake Gastronomical Society - HeavenlyMeal -
No, No, I'm unqualified to be chairman. When I was a working journalist (instead of a retired blogger), I organized our group lunches. My title then was "2nd subassistant cruise director Bau." So you can call me that if you'd like. I think I will pass on Jeanies Smoke Shop and a cigar, if Dan joins us, but count me in for lunch.
Erik I'll find out before the day arrives, Joe.
Confirmed so-far:
Chuck Erik (non-liver menu selection) Joe Rich Robert (non-liver menu selection)
Daniel, you didn't say for sure if you'd be there. We'd love to have you join us!
Anyone bringing a guest?
Maybe Patrick can mention this in "News"? "Liver and Onions committee to meet before July18 star party" or something like that. We can vote on the committee chair at the luncheon. I nominate Joe Bauman for the position of Chairman. _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Visit the Photo Gallery: http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php Visit the Wiki: http://www.utahastronomy.com

Yes, but that was when you were having sushi and caviar at all those snooty, socialite newspaper society luncheons. In the Liver and Onions committee, you're immensely qualified. Hear, hear! Joe for Chair! lol On Sat, May 30, 2009 at 11:19 AM, Joe Bauman <josephmbauman@yahoo.com>wrote:

At the risk of offending... Liver and onions have always tasted to me like grilled mud. And yes, I've tried numerous home recipes: "Oh, you've never had liver and onions like I prepare them - you'll love it!" Still comes out grilled mud. The only time I was glad to have liver was on a 30-day-long desert survival trip. We butchered a sheep, and no one else wanted the liver, so a guy from Korea and I claimed it. We did add onions (wild onions, I think) and on that occasion I was glad to have it. (Extreme hunger does funny things to your palate.) However, even on that occasion it was still MUD. So, if I'm allowed to join y'all at Lamb's, I'll order the haddock. Kim
Compared to kimchi, L&O is likely very tasty.
