Re: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Bryce Canyon Photos
I'll never forget to take my gloves and hat when I go up Bryce again. It was colder on Friday than our winter star party in February. Saturday was more confortable but cloudy in the early evening. Debbie

DOH!
You should have taken some pictures of us in the parking lot, kneeling down, in a circle, making the Park Ranger the tallest object, while the sights, sounds and odor of a nearby lightning stike hung in the air. Those would have been some good pictures. That is if you like pictures of rain and lightning. ;)

Just one more night, Guy. Those were taken on Friday.

Jeeeez, when did you take these pictures??? Last view I had of the park was through my rear view mirror and it didn't look nothing like that. The view through the windshield wasn't much better either until the wiper blades thawed and knocked the snow out of the way. ;) I would have stayed longer had I really thought it would quit snowing...
Glad to see it cleared.

The star party next year will probably be June 21-24. It should be warmer. However, this year has been unusually cold and is the anniversary of the 22 year solar cycle (double the 11 year sunspot cycle). 22 years ago was 1983 when State Street flooded, Highway 6 was closed due to the thistle landslide and they built the pumps for the Great Salt Lake.
