Re: Best space/sci-fi movie ever
Hey Rich, if you're talking about "The Sentinel", I read it about a year after I learned to read. I owe my late dad a debt of gratitude for my interest in science and science fiction, I devoured his paperbacks and textbooks. The Ley and Bonestell was right next to the Sci-fi..."Tales from the White Hart", "Childhood's End", I read them all. Heinlien (whom I met once, no kidding) was also a favorite, Vonnegut, Lester Del Rey, he even had such classics as "Earthbound" by Milton Lesser, and I loved the old pulp writers like Stanley Weinbaum. Before there was ET, before there was Mr. Spock, there was "Tweel" (sp?)... Memory lane, indeed! Rich Tenney wrote:
If I'm remembering correctly, the seminal short story the film is loosely based on takes place on the earth's moon. Look for it if you haven't read it.
