I hope it puts on a good show cause a good comet get people interested in astronomy. I remember when the flood of 2005 happened and the lights in the area was out, that comet was a good view in binoculars. Does anybody know the name of the comet in Jan '05. It was big and bright. It's a family trait. Holmes was the first comet that I viewed through my own telescope. I was living in Denver and was with the Denver Astro club. I'd seen plenty of comets naked eye and in binos, but it was the first I'd seen with my own equipment. I thought something was wrong with it too, because it looked so different.
