Gang, I've been asked to put on a star party for the YMCA Camp Roger. Kinda short notice, but if anyone's available for Monday night (the 1st), I'd appreciate it. This is the one that was rained out last week. They have a large open field that we can setup in. They will allow us to drive onto the field to setup as well. I'm not sure about power, don't count on it. There will be about 30-40 kids at the camp that night, they will provide enough counselors to keep the kids coming in waves. I think if we could have somewhere around 3-4 scopes that'd be plenty. It'll be quite dark, there's really nothing around, although they have a restricted view until about 20-30 degrees up in most directions. Plan on starting around 9:30, I'll be getting there somewhere around 8-8:30 so I can setup while it's still light. Plan on about an hour from entering Parley's canyon. I'd be happy to caravan up with anyone. Directions: http://www.ymcautah.org/camp-roger/directions GPS is 40° 34' 31.1" N 111° 02' 44.0" W If you have any questions, please email me directly. They also said that if we'd like to stay there for a while after the kids go to bed, we are welcome to be up there--it's pretty dark skies. Thanks, Dan -- Sent from my iPhone. Please pardon any mispelings or errors.
Hi All Any one planning on going up to wolf creek for the 4th July weekend? Mark Shelton
Just a follow up to see if anyone is heading out to Wolf Creek this weekend. Mike On Fri, Jun 28, 2013 at 9:31 PM, Mark Shelton <astroshelton@yahoo.com>wrote:

The clear sky clocks look pretty crummy for Wolf Creek. On a related subject, I know that some on this newsgroup have mentioned better places to get weather forecasts. From a flying related weather website, maybe? I neglected to bookmark them. Anyone have them at hand? Jo On Jul 5, 2013, at 1:51 PM, Robert Taylor wrote:

I agree the csc looks not so good. I was hoping it was opposite week on the csc as it has called for decent conditions all week here in Heber and as it turns out I have not been able to go out the last 4 nights. The csc for the west is pretty ugly this weekend. Mike On Fri, Jul 5, 2013 at 2:01 PM, Josephine Grahn <jograhn@gmail.com> wrote:

With the circulation pattern the way it is right now, pretty much anywhere within 400 miles is going to be a crapshoot. I would especially stay away from the mountains as higher altitudes will see the afternoon/night overcast and precipitation first. The desert is probably a better bet. Even then, one's odds of a few clear hours after midnight are probably less than 50/50. On Fri, Jul 5, 2013 at 2:44 PM, Robert Taylor <ratskradmt@gmail.com> wrote:
