Since I must go to work on Thursday, I'm going to watch the Perseids from my yard. Anyone else sticking around SLC tonight? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail is new and improved - Check it out! http://promotions.yahoo.com/new_mail
I will be home, or perhaps across the street at the park, watching the show. I have a view of the city to my south, but I am hoping that looking NE it will be darker. I have to get up at 5 am for work, so I thought I would just get up a little earlier. What time is is supposed to peak? -A

Both sources I've looked at say Thursday 5:00 AM is the projected peak. Yup, I'll be in my back yard too. --- Chuck Hards <chuckhards@yahoo.com> wrote:

Hey, Brent, if you can see West Valley from your house, I'll shine a red laser in your direction at about 4:30 if you'll look for it... Ann, I think I have line-of-sight to your place, too, look for a bright red light in mid-valley around 4:30... I did this in 1975 with a He-Ne laser on 17th avenue, and my observers (my parents) at about 2800 s. & 3200 w.! --- Brent Watson <brentjwatson@yahoo.com> wrote:

I will watch for your light, Chuck. Unfortunately, I do not have a laser to flash back. I use my cell phone light at the movie theater to alert my kids/friends where we are saving seats, but that won't work across the valley... Smoke signals? -A
It appears that a garage has been built along my line-of-sight to the north bench in the last 18 months, but if I can find a hole between obstructions I'll still try the signal light. Life is always an adventure. It's almost 11:00 pm and I just realized that we're out of DEET. Maybe I'll finally get that long vacation I've been craving. --- "Ann C. House" <ann@annhouse.org> wrote:
