Well Kurt, thanks for letting me spend an evening learning about impact craters in the US. Some I knew, some I didn't. Beavercreek must have been one massive impact up in Idaho, as was the Chesapeake but I was more impressed with the mid to smaller size impacts that still show in North America. As an afterthought, I sent a letter to the Governor's Office requesting that he send a letter to the researcher, Dr. Thomas Kenkmann, thanking him for his six years of effort in confirming the meteor impact nature of the Dome. The Governor's Science Advisor, Dr. Tamara Geotz, reviewed the literature search I put together and indicated that she would be using the materials with Utah secondary school educators to develop cirricula materials concerning how real scientific investigations are done.
Today, the Governor's Office sent a thank you letter out to Dr. Kenkmann which is reproduced here:
