Hi Folks, I know a nice woman with the National Parks and Recreation Association who is involved with the astronomy festival at Great Basin. Her name is Lynn Davis. I wrote to her asking if people could call her when there was a problem getting through to someone at the park. Here's what she said about that: -- Best wishes, Joe Oh dear, sorry to hear that there seems to be a communication lack. Yes, they can call me [about] the info -- especially if an astronomer is planning on attending. NPCA is hosting a dinner (which is open to astronomers, not the general public ) on Friday early evening and we'd ike to make certain everyone is invited. My number is 702 281 7380. Info is on the Great Basin website, toward the bottom of the page.
Joe, Thank you and Thanks to Lynn Davis. Ya wanna go with us?

Hi Steve, I haven't decided. I'm weighing a couple of considerations: a good friend's birthday is about then and I might want to be at his home Also, like everybody else, I'm not sure what the weather will be like -- if it's bad at GBNP I'll want to be somewhere else. It's farther than my favorite, the Wedge area, but on the other hand I bet the park would allow me to recharge my batteries there, making a second night's operations more certain. But at GBNP we would be conducting a public star party until midnight and I really need to try and start imaging as quickly as I can. Some of my targets I may take hours with. So I just don't know. Sorry to be uncertain. Thanks, Joe ________________________________ From: Steve Fisher <iotacass1@hotmail.com> To: utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Tuesday, July 19, 2011 2:26 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Great Basin Joe, Thank you and Thanks to Lynn Davis.
