At Gravel Pit Friday Night
In case any of you want to join some of us at the Gravel Pit tomorrow night (sorry Patrick, Chuck, but an hour's drive from my house there or to SPOC forces me to choose the darker location) you are welcome. We'll at least have Louis new 20-inch dob and my 16-inch there (not sure what the others coming are bringing). I'll be focusing on primarily on deep-sky Herschel-400 Winter/Spring objects, but will be happy to provide any other views desired. Dress warmly and bring warm boots -- there may still be some snow on the ground, though I doubt it will still be on the pavement after the weather we've had lately. Aloha I saw the photos of Pit n Pole but what is that for besides a target?? It looks like a great area w/ horizon to horizon views. How far is it from any bright lights and how dark is the sky?? any wind at night?? what about the dust/dirt that's kicked up?? Thanks Rob
