Utah Total Lunar Eclipse December 21, 1:37AM
Utah Total Lunar Eclipse December 21, 1:37AM For those of you who enjoyed this morning's dramatic partial lunar eclipse, you may wish to mark your calendar for the Dec. 21, 2010 total lunar eclipse. This eclipse will be (a) total and (b) at its greatest when the Moon is just past transiting and at an altitude of about 71 degrees. Of course, the usual winter weather disclaimer apply. December 21 typically is either overcast or snowing in Utah. The curb your enthusiasm winter event rule applies. - Kurt http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/OH/OH2010.html#LE2010Dec21T
Hi, If anyone cares, here's a little blog about the partial lunar eclipse Saturday morning. -- Best, Joe http://www.deseretnews.com/blog/47/10009369/Nightly-News-Astronomy-blog-The-...
Joe, I enjoy your blogs a lot but I haven't registered since the D-News has required it, thus no responses there. I wonder if that has impacted the number of responses or if it simply is the summer season . . . maybe both? On Sun, Jun 27, 2010 at 3:36 PM, Joe Bauman <josephmbauman@yahoo.com> wrote:

Hi Jay, I think the registration requirement has reduced comments somewhat. One thing to remember about registration is that it's strictly between you and the paper -- nobody has to use a real name when signing it. Still, I'm happy I get indications people are reading the blog. Thanks! I think the paper likes my blogs and I doubt they'd throw it out. After all, it gets some hits (sometimes, I think, a fair number) and costs them nothing. I do it because I love writing and astronomy, and because I have it in mind to someday possibly assemble some of the blogs as the basis of a ruminatin' kind of astro book.
