Not to take anything away from Patrick's pic, but it's been done. I've seen Pi on the odometer on one of the sports-car forums I belong to, a couple of times. They have a thread called "Stupid Odometer Tricks", for just this type of thing. I've also seen 271828 posted a few times. _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy

2.71828 is the first few places of the number e, the base of natural logarithms and a number whose importance rivals that of pi. The number 42 comes from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe books. I am not sure where 37 comes up. Fletch On May 20, 2013, at 10:29 PM, Joe Bauman <josephmbauman@yahoo.com> wrote:

Oh I knew 42. Thanks for e, but I'm still baffled by 37 -- unless it's someone's age! ________________________________ From: Fletcher Gross <gross@math.utah.edu> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, May 20, 2013 11:43 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Automotive Pi 2.71828 is the first few places of the number e, the base of natural logarithms and a number whose importance rivals that of pi.
