Re: [Utah-astronomy] NASA Lost the Right Stuff?
Seems spending needs to reigned in for all agencies. It does seem we will probably not be able to rely on Russians soon (Ukraine and Georgia). NASA does face some real challenges, they should probably start telling public how we benefit from NASA. Our debt is closing in on 11 trillion, I would bet all government agencies (including Pentagon) spending will be highly scrutinized. Republican or Democrat the government continues to grow, despite any rhetoric. Resources are dwindling and society will have to make tough choices. I can say this because I am not running for political office. --- sjseebergp@webtv.net wrote: From: sjseebergp@webtv.net (Jeanette Seeberg) To: utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com (Utah Astronomy) Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] NASA Lost the Right Stuff? Hi Friends, I've uploaded an image of Orion that I took Saturday morning, to my SLAS album. With the loss of our UtahAstronomy gallery, I'm hoping that more of us will use this great site to post our astrophotos. Here is the album -- it's the last one in it: http://slas.us/gallery/profiles/joeb/JOEB.HTML Take care, Joe
Hi Joe, Glad to see you're still at it. Did you take the picture from your house? During the all-nighters I've been pulling taking minor planet data recently it's been fun to occasionally walk outside and see our old friend rising in the east. Hi Patrick, Actually, I've been at the Wedge, trying for more challenging targets and failing. So when all else fails, our beautiful friend is a wonderful and easy model. I just got home from my second trip there in a few days, with more Orion pics and nothing else -- had some aggravating glitches. The bad thing about amateur astronomy is that if you learn by making mistakes, my most common method, you don't get enough nights out in the year to learn very much!
