According to S&T 12 July marks one Neptunian year since its discovery in 1846. Seems like a good time to see it so to that end I've reserved SPOC's refractor. Neptune will not rise that night until about midnight so in order to see it on the 12th I've reserved the scope for the morning of the 12th from 00:01 to 01:00. Open to all. Y'all come! patrick

Be careful - "coming out" usually has a different kind of connotation. I don't know what an armchair astronomer should be called when he/she becomes an active amateur, but personally I'd still avoid that expression. ;-) Kim -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Chrismo Sent: Monday, June 20, 2011 4:05 PM To: Utah Astronomy Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Neptune one orbit later I'd like to come out if that's okay... Chrismo, I wouldn't even have thought of that except I just had new neighbors move in, two women. When I introduced myself I simply asked if they were a "couple." They were surprised that I was comfortable even asking. I don't care one way or the other, just made me think when you said you wanted to, "come out." So go ahead, come out. Sure. However I'll be leaving just as soon as I've seen Neptune so it'll be a pretty short observing session unless another telescope operator shows up and decides to stick around. patrick
