Although I was locally clouded out on June 6, the following amateur video from Florida of mag 0.9-1.1 Antares being occulted by the Moon suggests that, in terms of contrast, an LCROSS impact plume of mag 2 to 5 should be something that can be captured with ordinary digital video camera equipment. The amateur used an unidentified digital video camera and a Celestron 8 inch. - Clear Skies - Kurt http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IrLdOqDcK0 Antares Occultation astroguyz June 06, 2009 An occultation of the bright star Antares (Alpha Scorpii) on June 6th, 2009 as seen from Hudson, Florida.
