Here's a good idea
We should establish a mailing list concerned with astronomy with a local Utah focus. We could call it, hmmm, let's see... Utah-Astronomy! What? There is already such a list?!? I haven't seen it for a while... Perhaps we should split into two lists: Utah-Astronomy Utah-Not-Really-About-Astronomy Jim
Surely the climate patterns of a planet and the sunspot cycle of its star are worthy topics for Utah Astronomy. But for anyonewho doesn't think so, just don't read the posts. Personally, I like the give and take of a wide-ranging discussion. Thanks, Joe

This global warming topic is astronomy related. It's about one of the 9, maybe 10 and counting, planets of the solar system... And science fair demonstrations and discussions of ballistics is also astronomy related since it takes a ballistic missle type device to put our space based telescopes in orbit... The glass is half full! ;) Quoting Jim Cobb <james@cobbzilla.net>:

It seems list topics do drift occassionally - but in fairness - only in inverse proportion to the frequency and density of cloud cover. - Canopus56(Kurt) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Well, as moderator (thought loosely I will admit) I thought it was a good relevant discussion. Plus, like someone said a while ago... we are a good group and this list resembles a SLAS Advanced Training Session as well, where friends gather to chat about numerous topics. I don't think I should step in every time someone posts a post that doesn't contain the words Utah and Astronomy. Just my 2 cents... I like to think this list belongs to the users. =) Cynthia Jim Cobb wrote:
