New Image Posted - M11 Wild Duck Cluster
Hi all. I am hesitant to interrupt the important discussions about ID with a post that is directly related to astronomy, but I am going to risk it! :-) I just added an image of M11, the Wild Duck Cluster, to my gallery. This cluster is located in an area of the sky that is incredibly rich in background stars. In fact, the background stars almost overwhelm the cluster itself, but I still like the image. The star colors are interesting, especially the large yellow star near the bottom of the image. This image was taken during my recent trip to Wolf Creek, between the clouds. Here is the link to the thumbnail: http://www.utahastronomy.com/album16/Utah_Asronomy_M11_Wild_Duck Click the thumbnail for the larger version (if you dare). I warn you..... the image has lots-O-stars! I hope someone enjoys the image as much as I have enjoyed processing it. Cheers, Tyler
Easily my favorite open cluster; looking at that image, one wonders why the sky is dark... :o) Nice job Tyler, as usual. --- Tyler Allred <tylerallred@earthlink.net> wrote:
