Re: [Utah-astronomy] Off-Topic: Penn. I.D. decision is out
Yep, that's good news. The ruling was clear and unambiguous. Better brace from more complaints from the religous right about "activist judges", whatever the heck those are supposed to be... : [Utah-astronomy] Off-Topic: Penn. I.D. decision is out
In a Dec. 20 opinion, a U.S. District Court judge in the Pennsylvannia "Intelligent Design" trial has ruled that intelligent design may not be included the Harrisbourgh school cirriculum. The 139 page decision can be downloaded for free using the following link. The link will probably only stay active for a week.
"Off topic"? Really? We are defending science and the scientific method. Seems a perfect fit for a science themed list serve. Michael Carnes wrote:

BBC is giving the ruling a lot of air time today. One comment I liked was to the effect that if schools are forced to teach creationism, churches should be forced to teach evolution. It's a good day for science but I fear this is but one small battle in a very large war. Patrick
