Saturday or Sunday Night Pit n Pole
The waning moon is getting out of the way for a while on Saturday and Sunday. Not enough to go out to Lakeside for me, but enough for the Pit. Anyone up for observing on either night or both? -- Jay Eads

having said that, is there any reason to say that one is better than the other? my drive time to lakeside is right at 1hr, but PnP looks like 90min. On Thu, Jul 21, 2011 at 9:53 PM, Chrismo <djchrismo@gmail.com> wrote:

Depends where you live. From Herriman I can get to Pit n Pole in 45 minutes. Lakeside for me is 1 1/2 hours to 1 hour 45 minutes. I'll be at Pit n Pole on Saturday for sure (going into new moon I do my personal observing during this period) but on Sunday it will depend on how many people may want to go to Pit n Pole, or go to Lakeside. I'm leaning Lakeside on Sunday night because there will less people out there for the holiday weekend, but since it is a holiday weekend I would prefer to have one or two people around as people can drive by in their trucks at 2:00a.m. and stop by with their lights on.
