High Point Scientific is currently running the PST for $100 off, through March 31, if anyone is interested. http://www.highpointscientific.com/product/COR-PST/Coronado-PST-Personal-Sol... I'm SO glad I got mine at $400 a couple of years ago.
I wonder how much the last few solar events drove up the price. I can't help but feel the price will go back down after the excitement recent solar events has receded.

...or solar max has passed, and there won't be much to see for several years. But I guarantee that it or it's descendant will be even more expensive by the next solar max. On Wed, Feb 6, 2013 at 11:55 AM, <erikhansen@thebluezone.net> wrote:

I should add that the $400 that I paid included a $100 discount at that time. I didn't get the carrying case since it comes in a contoured foam-lined box that protects it just fine, unless you want to take it white-water rafting or skydive with it. At home I keep it on a tripod most of the time, with an eyepiece installed. Makes quick looks between other tasks very easy.
