Re: Re: [Utah-astronomy]Potter Spoilers! >:o(
By the way, does anybody know when the movie Harry Potter 4 will come out? I want to buy my tickets in advance. I just finished #5 last week and will start #6 soon. I didn't really like Sirius anyway. He was rude to Mrs. Weasley. Debbie

Now how can that be? Everyone knows that Sirius died in book #5.

I always suspected it, I think you're right! DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER if you don't want to have anything Harry Potter related spoiled. Sorry, I know this is totally off topic for this board! But I love these books, and like to discuss theories. Snape has to be a vampire. In every single book JKR has written something about Snape that compares him to a bat. Book one page 288: So useful to have him swooping around like an over-grown bat. Book Two page 193: Snape, gliding over like a large malevolent bet. Book Three is hilarious! Snape assigns the DADA class an assignment on Werewolves on page 171, because he knows Lupin is a werewolf. Lupin later assigns the class to do an assignment on Vampires, but you do not hear about it until page 289. Snape is determined to get Harry into trouble after he nearly catches Harry having been in Hogsmead when he is not supposed to be. Lupin is trying to get Harry out of trouble, and I think trying to save the Marauders map from being discovered (but that's a whole other subject). Lupin starts talking to Harry about the vampire essay and it shuts Snape right up. Also in book three, the whole thing about James saving Snape's life when Sirius sent Snape into the shrieking shack while Lupin was transformed. Why would Snape die from a werewolf bite? Wouldn't he just become a werewolf? Is it because he is half Vampire and if a Vampire gets bitten by a werewolf they die. I could give you further references, but I think these suffice. Not that its terribly important. I don't know that it matters if Snape is half vampire or not. There are many things like this she has hidden throughout the book though. I have a lot of theories that I hope she will follow through on. I do believe that Snape and Dumbledore had an agreement that Snape was to kill Dumbledore though. Yes, I believe Snape was supposed to kill Dumbledore, with Dumbledore's permission. If you want proof, I can give it to you. I also think I know who the author of the letter in the locket Horcrux is, the R.A.B. on page 609. Lisa
WARNING! The following is likely to offend fans of JKR and Harry Potter. I've never cared much for children's literature, even when I was a child. I've never understood the attraction the Harry Potter books have for adults. I haven't read them and don't intend to. If they're anything like the films, I definitely won't be reading the books, unless Alzheimer's or some other malady robs me of what little intellectual powers I have. (I was coerced into taking the kids to the movies.) I don't mean to belittle anyone else's interest in the literature, but what is it that others find so interesting? Now Isaac Asimov, I can understand...

You are seriously underestimating JK Rowling. These are not children's books! Sorry, but if you had red them you would realize that. Until you have read them, I don't see where you can judge them. The movies are stupid compared to the books. On the surface, the books may seem a bit childish, but if you look behind the surface of what is going on, you would find a mystery comparable to Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes). If you don't want to read them, that's fine, but until you have read them, I do not see how you can belittle anyone else for thinking she is a great author, and these are great literature. The screenplay writer should be shot! I've decided that what will make a book appeal to me or not is the author's writing style. It doesn't seem to matter what the story is about, or how much their philosophy seems to disagree or agree with mine. If their writing style is right for me, I like the book. Kim Hyatt wrote:

DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER if you don't want to have anything Harry Potter related spoiled. You present a strong case for Snape being half vampire. After reading your emails, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you're right. You certainly seem to pick up on and remember a lot of detail. Hopefully, book 7 will come out sooner than book 6 did after 5. by the time book 6 came out, I was lucky to remember who died in book 5. I never considered the possibility that Snape and Dumbledore had some agreement for Snape to kill Dumbledore, but I did wonder if Dumbledore didn't somehow fake his death to make Voldemort and everyone think he was truly and sincerely dead as opposed to only merely dead. Dumbledore is too central of a character, and if he's truly and sincerely dead, it seems the remainder of the story will be diminished. John and Lisa Zeigler wrote:

DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER if you don't want to have anything Harry Potter related spoiled. Book One Page 137: Snape says "I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death." I do not know if he can stop death from the Avada Kedavra curse, but one curious thing: When Voldemort killed Frank Bryce in Book four, Frank just fell to the ground quietly and was dead. That's not what happened when Snape Killed Dumbledore. Also, a Phoenix rises from the ashes, and why is it that Dumbledore keeps a Phoenix - right there in his office? Why did the phoenix song echo across the grounds and through the castle windows? Pg. 615. It sang in a way Harry had never heard before. Also. You must realize that Dumbledore is as old as Nicholas Flamel, Book one, pg. 219. His work on Alchemy with his partner, Nicholas Flamel. Who we find out on pg 220 is 658 years old. Dumbledore has to be as old to have worked on the sorcerers stone with him! I believe he probably is an animagus also, maybe he can turn himself into a Phoenix? Maybe he can regenerate? Just theories... Just how old is he then? Maybe as old as say Gryffindor? Not until November. Of course if you have a time turner you could speed that up. The preview is running in theaters now or you can see it at http://harrypotter.warnerbros.com/gobletoffire/ . Hey Cynthia, care to tell the group your plans for opening night? :-) Patrick
Oooo. Oo oo oo... would be completely fun if we had a group go to the premier. It's the night of November 18th. A Friday, I believe. I plan on being in full Ravenclaw costume (don't laugh!). Wand and all. ;) Let me know if anyone wants to come. So far me, husband, a friend from work, and Patrick are gonna go. I just hope we don't have to stand in line all night long for tickets. That I'm not willing to do. I'm hoping to buy online. Cyn (Is this science/astronomy related? Well, maybe astronomy.. lol) Patrick Wiggins wrote:
