Came upon this while looking for other stuff today: http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/mystery_monday_040301.html. Keep smiling, Kim
I remember that being one cold day - especially with half my body sticking out the window while trying to drop the ball without hitting the plane tire or the cows below. I was successful in missing the cows. -A On Mon, Nov 8, 2010 at 9:21 AM, Kim <kimharch@cut.net> wrote:

While I think most here know Ann was kidding about the cows, since I know media monitors this list I'll add that the drop was made in accordance with FAR 91.15 which reads: "No pilot in command of a civil aircraft may allow any object to be dropped from that aircraft in flight that creates a hazard to persons or property. However, this section does not prohibit the dropping of any object if reasonable precautions are taken to avoid injury or damage to persons or property." BTW, I've accumulated a bag full of various sized and various density objects I still plan on dropping one day in hopes of creating a meteor-like strewn field.
