RE: [Utah-astronomy] Vdb142 in Ha - The Elephants Trunk
Chuck, No offense taken.... don't give it a second thought, Chuck. I, for one, am really glad that CCD technology and computers have made it possible to get nice images without some of the tedious aspects that once were the norm. Autoguiding certainly is easier on the eyes and neck than peering through a guiding eyepiece! Cheers, Tyler
Tyler, I'm sure you're right, and I will appreciate the "modern conveniences" as I age. Sigh... I just took some "screen shots" of the comet SL9/Jupiter impacts, videotaped from my back yard in 1994. Not very impressive, but they clearly show the massive impact sites on the planet. What I really need to do is "grab" some individual frames and stack them, to reduce noise and improve detail- but I don't have the equipment or software at the moment. I tried to upload a modest jpeg file to my Gallery page but it wasn't accepted, so I fired-off a note to Cynthia. As soon as she tells me what I'm doing wrong I'll get the shot uploaded to my Gallery pages. --- Tyler Allred <tylerallred@earthlink.net> wrote:
