Jay, I totally agree with you. I think I'll try Astromart or CloudyNights after Thanksgiving. If I can't get what I want out of it then I will not sell it. I've got too much time and effort into this scope so I'm going to be patient and find the right buyer. Debbie On Thu Oct 21 10:13 , Jay Eads jayleads@gmail.com> sent:
Be prepared for people to give you low ball offers also. Many think your price is the starting point for negotiations. I have to be honest and state I have sold through the SLAS Classifieds and they have been my best bet, or at Astromart.

I think a few members have had success selling on KSL but it is hit and miss as with all things on KSL. It's free to try so no harm done by trying. If the prices is right it will usually sell quickly, if the price is too high it will linger on the boards. You'll know pretty quickly.

Has anybody tried using the KSL ads to sell astronomy equipment? I have something I'm going to put up for sale in November but I do not want to risk shipping the item. The UPS people really throw those packages around. I'd rather meet the buyer face to face.
