Kurt, did you buy an Obsession?

The "Fisher" with the 15" Obsession at the Gravel Quarry would be Bob Fisher a former club member who goses up with there occasionally with a van full of relatives. I don't do binoviewing for the reasons Chuck stated. Deep sky objects loose brightness and I do a lot of public outreach where differential focus and interpupilary distances have to be adjusted for each viewer. DT PS: I went up to the quarry recently and saw evidence of construction activity going on there. A new scale is being installed next to the old one and a third scale is stacked up next to that. A lot of equiptment is parked in the lot like water trucks, front loaders and several of those large highway contruction lights. So they are working in the area and they may be running at night. So be aware that astronomy may not be happening if you go up there. PPS: Be aware that the owners may have other priorities than yours. Don't sneer, don't whine and don't shine lasers in the eyes of the livestock in the surrounding fields. These are activities that I've witnessed SLAS members engaging in....even board members. --- Canopus56 <canopus56@yahoo.com> wrote:

I'm telling you, Daniel, a pellet gun in the dark. Aim for the backside, low on the legs. They can't tell where it's coming from and the lasers go off in a hurry... ;o) On Tue, Apr 8, 2008 at 1:23 PM, daniel turner <outwest112@yahoo.com> wrote:

BTW, that was a joke, for the humorously impaired. But Daniel makes a good point, and I'd be ashamed to associate with anybody deliberately shining a laser on people or animals. If this keeps up, it's only a matter of time until the Feds come knocking on all of our doors, looking for our lasers. Common sense, people.
