For those who use them, which iPad applications similar to Google's (Android) Google Sky do you use? Also could you give me some reasons what you like best/least about it?
SkyView - http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/skyview-free-explore-universe/id413936865?mt=... It's free and accurate. The star catalog and details, however, are not very comprehensive. Jared On Mon, Jun 18, 2012 at 9:03 AM, william baker <baker464b@yahoo.com> wrote:

I have sky safari. I really like it so far, comprehensive and updateable data, satellite tracking, nice interface for object identification, night vision, and it displays sky and telescope's "what's up" column. It also will control telescopes with the appropriate cable or wifi device. There are several versions of it, the top end one can be expensive, but I got it on the 25% off sale a few weeks ago. Love this topic! Sky Safari Plus (Southern Stars) on both my iPad and iPhone. I've installed and used tons of planetarium apps, but Sky Safari has (for me) the best combination of user interface and ability to do what I want to do. Best of all, I've got the little box that plugs into my C11 or my C6 and SkySafari that controls the telescope through Wi-Fi. It's a real crowd-pleaser at star parties. I also like "Luan" (Celtic Code Craft) for Moon phase information, "Daylight" (Philippe Casgrain) for sunrise/sunset/twilight info, and "Exoplanet" (Hanno Rein) for a terrific 3D rotatable model of the Milky Way galaxy and tons of info about exoplanets. And speaking of exoplanets, check out "Kepler" by the University of California Santa Cruz. I actually have many more astronomy apps on my iOS devices (two folders' worth) but the above are just the ones I'm enthusiastic about.
